"Closer" is the first single from Ne-Yo's 2008 album, Year of the Gentleman. It was directed by Melina Matsoukas who also directed his "Because of You" music video. The song debuted at #22 in the UK Singles Chart on downloads only, and peaked at number five after five weeks on the chart.
