"Mambo No. 5" is a jive dance song originally recorded and composed by Pérez Prado in 1949. When Lou Bega's sampled the original and released it on his debut album A Little Bit of Mambo (1999), the song became a hit in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia, where it reached #1 in 1999. The song went on to reach #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US and has been announced as the twelfth most successful song of the 1990s.
