The song reached #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and #5 in the UK Singles Chart, as well as reaching #1 on the Modern Rock Tracks list in the US. The music video won two awards at the MTV Music Video Awards for Best Breakthrough Video and Best Special Effects.
