"I Love Rock 'n Roll" is a rock and roll song, written in 1975 by Alan Merrill and Jake Hooker of The Arrows. Joan Jett re-recorded the song with her band, The Blackhearts, and this recording became a U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number-one single for seven weeks, and a U.S. Rock Tracks number-one single for five weeks, effectively launching Jett's solo career.
