"What's This Life For" is the second single by American hard rock band Creed from their 1997 debut album, My Own Prison. The song was released in June 1998 and reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in the U.S. It was the band's first number-one hit on the chart and it remained at the summit for six weeks.
