The song was released as the first single from the band's 1993 album Promises and Lies. The song was a great success, reaching number one in Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden, UK, the US, Australia, and New Zealand. The song also appeared in the soundtrack of the 1993 Sharon Stone movie Sliver.
