"The Scientist" is the second single from the English alternative rock band Coldplay's second album A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002). It was released in the United States as the third single, and reached number eighteen on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks. The song won multiple MTV Video Music Awards in 2003 for Best Group Video, Best Direction, and Breakthrough Video.
