"The Day That Never Comes" is the first single by American heavy metal band Metallica from their new studio album, Death Magnetic. The song was released to the radio and for digital download on Thursday August 21st, 2008 and quickly climbed the iTunes chart, reaching #4 on their top selling songs after less than three days of availability, and eventually reaching #1.
