"Hallelujah" is a cover by Alexandra Burke, winner of the fifth series of British reality television show The X Factor, released as a single after her victory. The song was originally released by singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen on his 1984 studio album Various Positions. It reached the Christmas Number One spot on UK charts on 21 December 2008, having sold 576,000 copies in its first week, becoming the fastest selling single released by a woman in the UK.
